This acorn in Schenley Park is a squirrel’s dream come true, the largest acorn native to North America. Bur oaks (Quercus macrocarpa additionally spelled burr oak) have been planted in a number of locations within the park greater than 100 years in the past, most notably on the most important path entrance close to Bartlett Playground. This species withstands harsh situations and is likely one of the most drought resistant oaks.

Amazingly he was simpler to see by means of binoculars from Schenley Plaza tent. Too far for a photograph.
